The system is designed so that once content has been added to a page, the page cannot be saved blank (system fail-safe). I.e., if you delete all the content from a page and try to save it, this operation will fail and all the content will remain. If you want to save the page as blank, add a carriage return (hit "Enter") in the content area and your changes will then be saved.
(Some systems are set up to allow you to type $$clear$$ into either the source or the content editor in order to save a blank page.)
